Lisa, Simba and I flew home on Wednesday night June 24th. It was a much anticipated homecoming, and it feels good! The weather has been fairly nice. A little rain on Thursday and Friday but this weekend has been awesome. While we think Simba is a good traveler, I don't think he enjoys it as much as we do. Though he seems happy to be home. He's bounding around, running the stairs, going outside (supervised of course) and just generally being himself.
There were a couple scary moments when he let out a few screams at the airport and seemed to have some kind of convulsion...but then he settled down. When we let him out here at home, he kinda tipped over and had another seizure of sorts. I checked his breathing (bad breath and all) and his heart. He settled down and was fine. We think we gave him to much drug on an empty stomach. Now we don't know about dragging him back to FL only to leave him with his cat sitter when we go to Maui, or leave him here and hopefully have somebody deliver him to the Denver airport when we are passing through on the 5th of August. Decisions, decisions...
I had a dental appointments and a Dr. visit so I've checked out pretty good. I want to get off my blood thinners, but will wait till we return at the end of September. I had a good talk with my Doc, so that was very good. We decided to spend the weekend down in Westminster. We had been talking about running up to Edwards, but in the end it was easier to stay down here and do chores around the house. Weeding, power washing porch/patio/garage, painting, cleaning, etc. We went to Kristi and Haig's house for dinner Friday night and our friend's (Mike & Terri) on Saturday night.
We plan to go to Edwards on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. The 4th of July fireworks we can see from our deck are spectacular!! The best display in Colorado (we're told) -- I leave for Argentina on July 5th and get home the 11th. I'll be reunited with Lisa on the 12th. Then it's 10 days till we return to CO for a couple days and then we go to Maui for about 10 days!!
The future beyond that is not so clear...

Happy Father's Day
It's Sunday, "Father's Day"!! We have 3 more days till we leave for Colorado, with Simba in tow. I could have gone to Sao Paulo for a meeting on Wednesday; thought about it for 30 seconds and said I'd participate via phone. Saves money and probably some homeland peace of mind. I got us on the upgrade list so maybe we'll get lucky...
Things are heating up at work, and I'm losing people, so life is kinda unpleasant!! We just need to get through the close and maybe things will be clearer in a few weeks. I'll be in Argentina 7/6 - 7/10...I'm leaving from Denver but returning to Miami, then it's a little over a week until we go to Maui for an extended family vacation...not an extended vacation :-)
We have Kristi & Haig and the girls, Bob and Kathy and Bobbie and Rich and their 3 kids all meeting us in Maui at our time share. We have to go in the summer because of the kid's schedules. We planned this over a year ago and now it's only a few weeks away!! Lisa and I are staying a few extra days after everybody else leaves...then it's a long "red-eye" flight back to Denver and then Miami. We're traveling on United back and forth to Maui but American between Miami and Denver and then Denver to Miami (via Dallas) -- I'm not looking forward to that part of the trip!

8 more days...
Yep just 8 more days till we head back home for a bit. I'm staying till 7/5 then down to Argentina. Lisa is staying till Sunday July 12th. I may have to run to Brazil next week. If I go it will be Sunday night, and then straight to the office. The meeting is on Tuesday, so we'll see!! -- I'd prefer not to go so I can help Lisa with Simba, but duty calls...and I may have to go.
We got new Mac's on Saturday. They are sweet. I got a 13" and Lisa got the bigger 15"...solid aluminum....7 hour battery, awesome screens, ez to learn/use, and set up was a breeze. Lisa popped in the memory stick from her camera and 100 pics popped into her photo manager. (all thanks to our Colorado state refund check)
Work activity is picking up...quickly...it's all good. Just hoping we get some answers soon!!

Ant Slayer!!!
Ugh, we have a small infestation of "sugar ants"...they are so small, you can barely see them. But my wife's eyes are better than mine and she can see them. So naturally I'm called in to consult. We originally found them on the counters, but we got some of this. Which was very effective. The theory is it gets on there little legs and they ingest some and they take it back to the queen of the ants and then they all die. So we have ant carcasses about...not a huge problems until they are like 24 deep, then I can see them. The terro is in a little ant hotel...so some die in there too.
The weather has been ok the last few days, NO rain!! Still very warm, but at least you can be out and about.
Only 12 days until we head back to Colorado for year-end (at work) and the 4th of July!! Then I'm off to Argentina and Lisa returns 7/12...we're home for a week and a half and then we head back to CO on 7/22 and leave for Maui on 7/25!!! Lisa and I are staying a couple extra days and return on the red-eye 8/4 and travel all night and most of the 5th to get back to Boca!!
After that the future get's cloudy...

What a week...
It's good to be back in the US of A!! -- I spent most of the week in Panama City. My expectations were low and I was mildly surprised. I flew out on Monday. The shortest flight this calendar year. Just about 3 hours long. Upgraded to First Class on both outbound and return!! Nice! -- I met my two Sun cohorts, Bill and Tim at the hotel on Monday night. We met for dinner to compare notes and plot strategy. We were meeting a partner the next day to negotiate some changes to a joint venture agreement. The meetings went OK on Tuesday, with lots of ground to cover. An issue here an issue there, worries about the future.
We left Tueday night thinking we made good progress. We went to a Spanish restaurant, great calamari, a nice piece of salmon and a Malbec...awesome combination. We were going to meet later on Wednesday morning as we had some work to do on our proposal. We huddled in the lobby at 10:30 to get to the office by 11:00. We gave the taxi driver the exact same direction as the day befor. The "Banco General" building on such and such a street. He delivered us to a "Banco General" building, but it was the wrong one...we had paid and he was gone by the time he figured it out. We saw the building in the distance and decided to hoof it...we were 15 minutes late and kinda moist when we finally arrived.
Wednesday's meeting kinda got off to a rough start with about 10 demands from the partner...of which we agreed to about 8. We hammered out a "game plan"; updated the financials; translated the agreement into "legalese" and pretty much called it a day. The partner took us to the canal for cocktails and then a really nice dinner. I think he liked the progress we had made. The flight home was at 2:30 so I worked from the hotel most of the day. The surprise was they had an "Admirals Club" at the airport...Nice!
The flight was uneventful, we landed on time, the lines at passport control were a breeze and the driver was waiting! (sweet) -- it felt good to get home!
